I’m taking a break for awhile.
Custom Corner Bar – $50 (Potomac Ave. Metro)

This is a corner cabinet that we turned into a bar; it’s a cool piece of furniture and always gets compliments, but it no longer fits with our decor. It needs a new coat of paint to be perfect, but is sturdy and in good repair. It’s heavy: you will need two people to move it, and a truck or SUV.

VINTAGE CANE/WALNUT FULL-SIZE HEADBOARD – $75 (Bowie)

This item isn’t an antique but would be considered vintage. I’m not sure when my parents purchased it, but it wasn’t any later than 1962–that I know for sure as I can remember my brother using it at that time. Looking at the style, which is probably what’s called Danish modern, makes me think that my parents most likely purchased it between 1955 and 1962 (they got married in 1955).
This headboard is, I believe, made of walnut wood and cane. As you can see from the picture, it’s divided into four areas where the wood frames the caned sections. The caned areas are in good condition–no breaks, holes, or anything of that nature. However, there are some areas of the caning where it isn’t completely taught anymore. The wood portions of this headboard are in good condition, but I think they could use a little tung oil on them–no need to refinish unless you really want to.
I think this would look good on a bed in a guest room, especially if the entire room was done in a vintage fashion.
Cash only, please.

BlackWalnut Starburst Inlayed Lane Table, Altavista VA Collectible – $295 (Pickup or Delivery from Fredericksburg)

Up for sale is a BlackWalnut, Starburst inlayed Lane reading lamp side table made from the Altavista Va. production line. If you are going to have a collectable from the Lane collection, the Altavista stamp is preferable. The Lane family founded the town of Altavista in 1907 and Incorporated their first venture in 1912 as the Standard Red Cedar Chest Co,. After 1951 Lane began the profitable sideline of making occasional tables. This table is marked Style no 997 22 Serial No 460590.
The man who I bought this table from, stated he bought it in Williamsburg and had it until it’s seams showed separation. I rigged a “clamp down” for the table and glued it stable again. The table is from the midcentury.
I am known for not using abrasives. I used only the finniest 600 grit which will only remove what is lifted with moisture over time. This table is close to mint and has the original finish which has been reconditioned evenly. I has no blemishes.
The table is 22″ high and 28″ in diameter at the top.
This table is appraised above $700. Please compare:

Stylish 3-drawer Teak desk – $140 OBO – $140 (Dupont Circle)

Teak desk (possibly walnut, but teak in tone) purchased from Millenium Furniture on U Street several years ago, and only lightly used since. Photos show the style of the piece and the detailing, which includes an excellent condition on the top surface and a finished back. Desk has three drawers (shown in third photo), all in good working condition, and original handles that have a brass/dark gold finish. Great desk–I’m only selling it because I’m moving to a smaller space and have to downsize.
Dimensions are 48 inches wide, 25 inches deep, and 30 inches tall.
$140 OBO, and cash only. You must take responsibility for moving it. The apartment for pick-up is four floors of walk-up, but the desk is relatively lightweight and can be managed by two people. I will be happy to help with holding doors, etc., but cannot be one of the primary movers.
I’m available at any time over the next ten days to show the piece; just email me or call #703-994-3166. Must be gone by August 28. Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sweet retro bar – $30 (Ft. Totten)

This bar is awesome, we just don’t have space for it anymore. It has a sliding cabinet in the back where you can keep “the goods” and a nice laminate (maybe?) top that is pretty stain resistant. If you wanna put stools in front of it, it has a nice foot rest as well. Asking $30 OBO, pick up only. Probably will fit in a decent size car with the back seats down (I think).

Vintage RCA Console TV, model 2184516N – $100 (Riverdale, MD 20737)

I think the TV is perfect for restoration but it is not complete.
